The villagers from Lumakanda village in Kakamega are still recovering from the shock that visited one of their homesteads.
The bizarre story is of a hen that gave birth to a live chick instead of the normal way of laying and hatching eggs.
The unusual incident went down at the homestead of Miss Dorcas
Otwoma who also is the owner to the fated hen.
Explaining to the swelling crowds of villagers who were astonished claiming its a curse and bad omen to the village,Dorcas explained that she had bought the ill fated hen from Kipkaren market which is neighbouring.
The hen is said to have started laying eggs normally for three days and on the third day it stopped,this went for nearly three days when it finally did and when it happened it wasn't an egg laid but a live chick.
Otuoma says the chick has been showcasing unusual rapid growth saying initially it was tiny but has since been growing very fast minute after minute.
Villagers are saying a sacrifice should be made to appease the gods who they claim are mad and sent them the curse.
The owner however voluntarily gave the chick to the area vet to help together with other scientist to conduct research and explain the phenomenal.
