Makau Mutua has been a columnist with the Daily Nation for the past seven years. His column has been drawing views including praises and criticism across the interests groups.
In the recent the Kenyan born USA based lawyer has openly been a key critic of the jubilee government. In one of his articles he bluntly denied to ever recognise Uhuru as the president attributing it to his rights. His column has been faulted by the pro jubilee as hate propagating while the anti jubilee have been showering him with praises for speaking his mind.
He is the Dean of the University at Buffalo Law School, where he is also a SUNY Distinguished Professor and the Floyd H. and Hilda L. Hurst

He announced that his column moves to the standard and emphasises it as personal decision other than a prompted move
