Below is a story shared by Sheila on how she got scared and at the end......

"I met Ndegwa when I was looking for furniture
for my first flat. I had never lived on my own
and was bursting with anticipation of the
adventures that come with living single.

He was working at Nakumatt Westgate at the
time and we struck up a good friendship.

Over the years, whenever I would stop by to pick up
groceries, I would call, or he would spot me and
stop me for a chat.

His spirit always picked me
up and made me want to work even harder!
He always kept in touch and followed my work
on radio, on TPF.

He knew what songs I had
released, and kept encouraging me to go on
when the going got rough.
When the terrible attack on Saturday happened, I
was afraid to call.

Afraid of the worst. Afraid of
goodbye. Afraid that I would never see Ndegwa
again.
Yesterday I plucked up the courage to call.

His phone was mteja.
I hardly slept last night, and as soon as it was
daylight, tried his number again.
It rang, but there was no reply.
Then I called again. He answered the phone, and
all I could do was cry.

He had been moved to the Highridge branch, as
the Westgate branch is inaccessible, and I went
over to see him.
My joy can not be expressed in words, but I know
that this joy I feel is pain for many who have lost
loved ones.

My sincere and heartfelt prayers are with you at this time. My prayers are also with
those who are injured.
The journey of life is one we all must travel, and
oftentimes, God sends us encouragement and
strength through people.

I pray that you find a Ndegwa who will encourage
you and motivate you!"

  8. ...Swali, Ndegwa must have known you were worried sik. Don't you think he should have called you to assure he was fine? Just asking. That's what true love does...in my opinion.
