A court in Nyeri last week was treated to a blend of shock and laughter when Thomas Karanja,46 who was accused of raping a minor girl of 11 years pleaded with the court for leniency.
Joseph told the court that his case shouldn't be treated as rape since he didn't reach the climax of the crime. In his own words he said;
"My Lord, although I penetrated, I did not get any enjoyment because some people appeared at the scene and we had to stop immediately, so have mercy on me."
Karanja owed the victim's mother some money and when she ran into him on the feted day,he told her to send the daughter to collect the money from his house and after giving out the cash the pervert tried luring the minor who didn't give in ending up in a forceful engagement.
Luckily and unfortunate to him,a group of passers by overheard the loud screams coming from the girl,catching the beast in action and rescued the girl.
Doctors report indicates that the minor was penetrated into.
Surprisingly,he told the court that the victim initiated the act by fondling and rubbing his manhood a claim that didn't bare grounds. He was however slapped with 20 years in prison.
