The Thika Superhighway gave Kenya a title in the region and it's the best road design we've had in centuries, glamourous with flyovers,modern time roundabouts designs,well planted street lights,multi traffic lanes,this road has largely eased the traffic congestions that previously was a menace to the residents. As a result of this ease in passage it has become heaven for drivers who finds it smooth to glide through. However with the free and smooth flowing we've seen rise in the number of accident cases along the road latest being a bus killing more than ten people around Githurai due to the driver's negligence and over speeding. The government initiated safety measures and regulating the speed levels to curb the accident cases.

Despite the glamour of the road,one link seem to have been missing,the drainage system must have been ignored by the constructors,this became evident last evening when large rains that hit several parts of Nairobi caused a major flooding in the superhighway,residents were shocked and frustrated to discover the now open truth,motorists were worst hit as they had to drive into nowhere not knowing what to expect,below is a series of pictures showing the situation as it were yesterday:
