Kiambu governor William Kabogo has come under severe attack from several sections following his insulting words towards one Thika town MP Alice Ng'ang'a. During a recent public address,Kabogo who has been put on check by area leaders as dictatorial, made an insult to the female MP,he referred to her as uncircumcised in local dialect 'Kîraigû' .
Up to five legislators from the region including furious Shebesh recently convened a press briefing to condemn the governor's dictatorial operatives and accusing him of downplaying the rest opting to run the show as one man. Shebesh,Nairobi women rep also applauded their grievances by condemning Kabogo for using women rights degrading insults.
[Hon. Alice in white]Female Genital Mutilation(FGM) is an outlawed act in Kenya though some community still practice it. Hon. Alice accuses Kabogo for legislating for "barbaric social acts against women" the Kikuyu community used to circumcise their women but the act has been on the down low.
The Thika MP had previously vied against Kabugo in Juja constituency and haven't been clearly seeing each other eye to an eye but local politics reads the signs that Kabogo is on a one man show with other leaders accusing him of looking down upon them.
Alice threatened to collect two million signatures to impeach the "dictatorial" governor. Perhaps this added to the pilling outrage that made Kabogo insult her and all his critics. "it is shameful for a 21st century leader to insult a woman and make pro FGM comments, this is an insult to all women and their rights in the society,FGM is a nightmare that should not even be thought of,the governor was out of order" said James Gaitho a concerned constituent.
