Former SONU Chair BABU OWINO Sets Aside 34Million For Campaigns To Recapture Seat,Flaunts Thousands Of $100 Bills

The flamboyant 25 year old once SONU chair Paul Ongili Owino popularly known as Babu Owino is back into the news again and this time for the same reasons. After graduating with a first class honours in actuarial science,Babu has returned to the parklands campus of the same UoN that he had headed the students body before.

Babu unsuccessfully vied to capture the parliamentary seat for Westlands constituency in the last general elections on an ODM ticket. His return to the university as a bachelor student in the school of law automatically qualified him to vie for the prestigious post. It was a rumour at first but it will no longer be,Babu has confirmed his return to the field.

His opponents have been thrown into a panic mode given his vast wealth and influence on the students who up to know still value him. According to close sources talking exclusively to Nairobi Exposed,the businessman cum student has set aside sh.34m for the campaigns which will include all the University of Nairobi campuses across the country. He will totally sponsor all the aspirants in his team according to his campaigns coordinator Ndege Sirkal..

This only comes few days after Babu personally spent Ksh. 1,875,220 to clear school fees for 43 first year students who recently joined and had problems paying their fee.

Only a week before in his philanthropic ways and plight for the less fortunate,the vying SONU boss issued a cheque donation of Sh.3.5M to Lewa Children home in Eldoret. Talking of philanthropy, last year Babu helped clear medical fee for the mother to one of UoN students who had been detained in Thika District Hospital,he cleared the sh.768,000 bill.

One wonders why he would use sh.34m for a mere student union post,well amongst the comrades SONU elections comes second after IEBC general elections and the privileges that it comes with is nothing close to being an MP supposedly.

According to more info gathered by NE,it's expected that Babu will campaign in an all SUVs convoy guarded by armed bodyguards like he has previously done only that this time chopper is on the offing. This shows the seriousness it comes with.
