On the day she won the Oscars,jubilation were reported at her Seme home in Kisumu county where many are now referring to her as Nyar Seme,a fest was organized to celebrate the victory. Many female babies being born in the region are being named after Lupita.
However,it is not only new borns that are catching LUPITA's fever,ladies in the lakeside City are now adopting the Oscar's winner hairstyle of going bald,according to Millicent Aluoch a resident at the city talking to a Nairobi Exposed correspondent,"i decided to shave my hair not to look like Lupita but to celebrate her victory we are really proud of her,we are not leaving anything unshaved,it is not only me but if you look around closely you will notice many ladies spotting the same hairstyle".
Leah Aswito a salonist in the CBD says the new hairstyle in town now has been nick named 'Lupita' and one should not get it twisted that shaving off the hair is cheaper than braiding and weaves,it is equally costly,"you just don't shave and leave it as that like men do,a lot of hair treatment is involved and air gels to maintain the look so someone should not think its a cheaper alternative" Aluoch tells NE.
The showbiz industry is also not being left behind and already cashing on it,popular Benga singer Atomy Sifa is said to be in the studios cooking a major hit song to celebrate Lupita's success and at the same time,there's Lupita theme night across popular clubs in the region with one set for this weekend at Club Signature. Classy and no ratchets since the celebrated is not one.
Calendars,posters baring Lupita photos are selling like hotcake. The new slang in town men are using to refer to beautiful ladies in the region is 'Lupita' ideally the whole city has been 'Lupita-ised'
