In his statement yesterday addressing the nation on national security at the peak of coordinated terror attacks, DP Ruto was categorical how courts were giving bonds to terror suspects only for them to commit more acts of terror when out on bond. The DP fell just short of blaming judiciary for spiraling terrorism.
It now emerges, DP Ruto may have been caught lying in an international press conference. Neither Jamal Mohamed Awadh nor Suleiman Mohammed Sayyed whom the DP said were terror suspects out on bond and that their families had confirmed that they both died on May 3rd, 2014, while executing a bomb attack in Mombasa was nothing but unresearched NSI propaganda, being fed to a gullible media and being swallowed hook, line and sinker to an equally naive public. What an embarrassment!
The full list of those arrested during the Musjid Musa fiasco has since been released and on circulation with two missing in it. This also comes at a time when contradictory reports come from the Mombasa DC who in confirming the incident, claimed the attackers had escaped on a motorbike after hurling grenades at the Chania bus from Nairobi a distant report with what now security details say the two who had allegedly escaped in the DC's report are now amongst the dead.
At the same time, family members of the deceased are crying foul in what they term as a double loss of losing a loved one And 'false ' accusation labeled against them.
If proved right, this won't be the first time for a top organ go give a contradictory report, last year during the Westgate mall attack, Interior CS Ole Lenku was accused of.giving misleading reports and so was the president on the exact number of attackers. This begs the question, where is the missing link.
