Kiogoro MCA rep Samuel Aboko Onkwani is a man cursing his tongue for publicly uttering words that many have been murmuring. Sometimes last year in the heat of the moment, the politician spewed the words many use as a joke owing to the president 's protruding eyes.
Aboko was this week charged in a Kisii court with uttering offensive words against the president, calling him a ‘bhang smoker’ He was charged with undermining the authority of a public officer contrary to Section 132 of the Penal Code.
Before Principal Magistrate Kibet Sambu, the court heard that the words uttered by Mr Aboko were calculated to bring into contempt the lawful authority of Mr Kenyatta who is a
public officer, namely the President of the Republic of Kenya.
The accused, who was represented by
advocates Gideon Nyambati and Isaiah
Mosota, denied the charges. In a calculated move, the lawyers are said to be planning on making a submission that would compel the president to take a drug test on wether he does or not smoke marijuana to proof their client's claim, question would then be would the president comply? The accused has since been freed on bond and case expected to resume in June.
